Discipline and Appeals

All complaints regarding the behaviour, or breaches of the Codes of Conduct by BUVC members, employed coaches or other individuals related to the Club should be submitted in writing to the Club Captain. The Club Captain shall then call a disciplinary hearing to deal with complaints within 10 days of the complaint being lodged. The disciplinary hearing must be attended by 70 per cent of the Club's officers.

The outcome of a disciplinary hearing will be sent in writing to the person who lodged the complaint and the individual against whom the complaint was made within one week of the hearing. Individuals subject to disciplinary action will have the right of appeal to the Club's Committee and must do so within one week of the disciplinary action being announced. The Committee will consider the appeal within 10 days of the Appeal being received.

The Committee has the power to take appropriate disciplinary action, including the termination of membership. In extreme cases, the Committee may refer cases to the University Sport Birmingham Athletic Union.

See the Discipline and Appeals Procedure document for full procedural details on handling complaints about individuals.
