How to Join the Club
Saturday 18th August 2007
Joining the University of Birmingham volleyball club is easy, especially if you wish to attend either the Beginner or Recreational sessions, as all you need to do is turn up one evening. There is no to inform the coach beforehand and you receive your first two session free to see if you like the Club, the session and the sport.
If you wish to play for one of the West Midlands teams, you can just pop along to the session unannounced although we would be grateful if you let someone know you were planning to attend. The West Midlands league teams are not based on selective entry and play for fun as much as the competition. However, you will need to have a basic knowledge of 6 versus 6 volleyball and be able to perform the basic skills.
The only teams at the Club that are restricted to University of Birmingham students only are the men's and women's BUSA teams, as these teams represent the University in the inter-varsity competitions. These teams are selected by trials held at the start of the Autumn term, University of Birmingham students wishing to join either of these teams after the trials have been held should contact the Coach or Team Captain.
If you wish to play for one of the national league teams, we ask that you contact the appropriate coach before you turn up, as they will obviously have a session planned out and extra numbers may cause some disruption to the session. We are always happy to welcome new players to national league teams, at any stage of the season.
