New Addition to UBVC's Weekly Schedule

Skills from elsewhere can be carried across to the new session

The University of Birmingham Volleyball Club have this week announced an addition to their existing weekly schedule. This comes in the form of a new 'come and play' session open to all existing and prospective club members. The 'come and play' represents the eighth weekly session offered by the club that is open to both students and members of the community.

The new session will run at King Edwards School in Selly Oak every Tuesday from 1800-2000. It is being offered by the club as a place where anybody can come and simply play some fun volleyball against people of similar ability to themselves. While there will not be any drills operated at the session, one of the clubs coaches will be present to offer advice and help people who are interested in improving their skills in this more informal environment. It is intended that the session will consist of 4 v 4 games running alongside each other using a mixed height net and the badminton lines as courts. Club Captain Peter Murray said "This is a wonderful addition to the clubs already full schedule. It gives people of all abilities the chance to play, improve their skills and most importantly have fun."

The session will run alongside the recreational session which currently runs on a Thursday afternoon. It is hoped that the 'come and play' aspect of the session will attract people already at the recreational session as it will offer them another chance to get together with friends and play volleyball.
