Tea and cakes night promises to provide all members with a sweet tooth satisfaction.

The University of Birmingham Volleyball Club is happy to announce a new addition to the clubs social calender. Following discussions and a lot of planning, the club hopes to hold a monthly 'Tea & Cakes' night as a free event for all club members to come together on a more frequent basis. The first one will be held at TC's Pub on March 11th.

The evening is designed to offer all members of the club to socialise, away from the usual format of club socials. It is hoped that with an earlier starting and finishing time, the event will attract members of the club who are usually unavailable for weekday socials due to work commitments. The event will involve club members baking cakes and bringing them along. As well as the cakes, the bar will also be open in the function room for club members to purchase drinks without having to wait in long lines.

Following brainstorming by the new social group, headed up by Social Secretary Rachel Copestake, the format for the evening was planned and UBVC is hoping that the event will be a success. The committee felt that the use of TC's private function room was a good opportunity to give something back to our committed members. Club Captain Pete Murray said "This is a new and exciting opportunity for our club members to get to know each other in a different environment, away from the usual format of our socials. We do hope that members take advantage of this to make the event a success."

The event is open to all members of the club, whatever team or session they play in. For further details, or directions to the venue please contact Rachel or Pete who will be able to give you the information needed.
