Club Member to Sacrifice Locks for Charity
Wednesday 9th June 2010

England's Longest Dreadlocks to be seen for the final time very soon.
The club's National League Team Manager Tomasz Tomczak has vowed to cut of his precious dreadlocks in order to raise money for UBVC's charity partner Birmingham Children's Hospital. Tomasz, known in the club as Dread will soon have to search for a new nickname after he chops off his infamous hair in a campaign to do more for the local charity. Although an exact date for this is not known, UBVC asks all club members to get behind this effort to help thousands of the city's children.
Since his arrival 3 years ago people have instantly recognised the likeable Polish player from his well known hair style and the decision to lose his most prominent feature has not been an easy one to make. Initially the 'cut' was going to take place before the club end of season awards evening however after discussions Tom postponed the event in order to try and raise as much money as possible.
Since making this decision Tom has gone to a lot of effort to raise the money. He had a charity bucket at club socials and also took one to the crowd at the Volleyball England National Cup Finals to raise this money for the hostpital. Following peoples generosity at this event, Tom and UBVC are sure that club members will be willing to support in this. If you want to donate please contact Tomasz on dread.bielsko@yahoo.co.uk. Alternatively you can visit http://www.justgiving.com/dreadski and donate online.
UBVC wishes Tomasz every success in his fundraising and looks forward to seeing a new 'Dread' return to the court next season.
