Club put forward for CCPR Award

Last week saw the Club being nominated by Volleyball England for the prestigious CCPR Community Sports Club of the Year Award for 2008.

The CCPR Community Sports Club of the Year award is a national award that is open to all sports clubs nationwide, designed to reward the exceptional effort and hard work in the development of their sport in the community. The first prize is worth ?6000, with ?3000 for two runners-up and three ?1000 prizes for highly commended clubs.

The Club's entry was one of three put forward by Volleyball England and reflected the excellent work being done by the Club's committee and volunteers in the last year. With the Club establishing two new teams in the 2007-2008 season the Club continues to grow and the addition of five new school-club links and sitting volleyball in the last six month that grow is assured in the long-term.
