Men's NVL Firsts Vs. City of Preston

After watching Middlesbrough just about edge out a win in five sets over Preston, we knew that they wouldn't be too much of a push over. Birmingham started with a different rotation from the Middlesbrough game, replacing Bertrand and Jan for Graham Fowler and Kieron Bradley.

The first set went fairly briskly (17mins) with Birmingham winning comfortably 25-18. The second set was much the same, however with the addition of another English player for Birmingham. Pete Melia was on as setter, and Ronald Koko was on as Outside Hitter.

Ronald is new to the Club, and in fact England. Coming from France in the last year, he doesn't speak too much and at only 15, possibly the youngest player in the league. However what a talent - he can out-jump a lot of players and hits the ball as hard as the senior players.

We won the second set 25-14, with Pete setting well and Ronald and Grant spiking a lot of points. Third set was again for Birmingham, with them winning 25-20. The team were playing well together.
