Low net gifts Birmingham second win

It's a net Jim, but not as we know it!

Birmingham men’s less than ordinary season continued as they travelled to London to play the difficult London Knights. Many would only break sweat in trying to find the venue, for on arrival they discovered a net system raised up on a plethora of bar bell weights.

Experienced in the vast array of oddities from the local league, Birmingham assessed the situation and figured that the gap between ground and posts probably wasn’t the safest. This coupled with the net being 5cm too low surprised the Birmingham players, who hadn’t thought such an established team would have the wrong posts.

Whilst the Knights busily tried to drill new holes into their posts the expectant crowd waited patiently, one of the players’ girlfriends returning to her book and sandwich and a random old man tucked into his apple. But after an hour or so (and a suspected burnt out drill) the net still was not up and the game was officially awarded to Birmingham.

Knights decided then to play amongst themselves and rather than provide food, offered Birmingham a solitary banana and a cold shower for their journey home. Still, Birmingham returned from London with 3 points and look forward to their next game against Richmond at home.

MVP: Howard Hoare (sweated most and saved Niki Nikolay the trouble of writing this).
