Volunteering Opportunities
Saturday 3rd January 2009
Each year a large number of the club’s members volunteered their time to help run the club, from managing and organising teams, learning to coach and going to schools, to even training to become a referee. Without their help, the club most certainly would not function as it does.
With eight teams, 150+ members, over 100 matches each season, and a junior programme that reaches over 300 children a week we have a wide range of volunteering opportunities available, and you do not need to a member of the club or even a volleyball player (although for some things it would help) to volunteer your time and skills.
You can look through the committee roles and job descriptions to see some of the main roles our volunteers take up, but there are many other jobs that need doing and take up no more than a couple of hours each week, for example:
- keeping the web site up-to-date;
- fundraising and sponsorship hunting;
- writing match reports and news articles;
- organising social events.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us on: info:ubvc.co.uk or talk to one of the committee members.
